Celeb Twitter Round-Up: Jub Jub Distracts From Gun Charges With Baby Pics

September 11, 2026

Once upon a time, people used to say “Only in America” as a response to a story that seemed almost too incredible to believe. Now, whenever you hear something over the top in Mzansi, the typical response is “South Africa is a movie!”, and today’s story is no different!

A warrant of arrest was issued last month for the arrest of Molemo Katleho Maarohanye, more popularly known as Jub Jub. He failed to appear in court on 24 August, but had apparently been sick and could not attend the proceedings stemming from charges of discharging a firearm in a public space and pointing an object believed to be a firearm.

Long story made short: Jub Jub was in a whole heap of trouble, and he recently had his bail extended. The Gauteng National Prosecuting Authority previously confirmed that it was ready to proceed with the case.

Now, what really got everyone raising their eyebrows is that the 46-year-old musician recently welcomed new life into the world.

On Monday, 7 September, Jub Jub shared a photo via Instagram of an infant, with the post containing no caption, aside from several hashtags and a heart emoji. Reports claim that actress Vuyiseka Cawe is the mother, but nothing has been confirmed.

Fans pulled up with congratulations for the little one and the proud father.

A day later, another photo was shared. This time, a black and white photo of the daughter’s tiny hand in the palm of Jub Jub’s hand.

Once again, the well wishes flowed and all was light and love. Awaiting court date? What awaiting court date?

Jub Jub shares a son named Christian from his past relationship with songstress Kelly Khumalo.

However, over on the streets of Twitter/X, folks had a whole bunch of different feelings upon hearing the news. Folks weren’t sure about his marital status and who he was seeing, while referencing an incident in which he allegedly pointed a weapon at an e-hailing driver in June.

You had users claiming that the man was a parent of questionable standing.

Then you had online citizens bringing the jokes.

For the rest of the crowd, everyone else was bewildered and still trying to make sense of the year.

Between Jub Jub’s life and the year that is 2026, Mzansi is never short on entertainment. South Africa is indeed a movie and Twitter is the watch party.
